What you’ll do

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Embark Group at the beginning of our journey of planned significant growth within the WRAP market.

Platform Oversight Manager is a newly established role working as a member of the senior leadership team playing a pivotal part in developing and establishing the Platform and CASS oversight function to ensure we comply with FCA regulations.

Managing the oversight team, you will provide first line of defense by overseeing the activities of both the internal customer services/operations teams and the 3rd party outsourced administration and providing a robust controls framework. The team will also be responsible for error and exceptions handling and all Regulatory reporting.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

Key to success will be your ability to demonstrate and apply a rounded technical understanding, exceptional breadth of knowledge of the entire Wrap lifecycle, your attention to detail, and your focus on team development, engagement and motivation. Other requirements of the role will involve taking ownership of:

 

  • Managing an oversight team responsible for the oversight of key outsourced processes/functions relating to the protection of client money and assets.
  • Ensuing delivery of department SLA’s through the use of KPI monitoring and Management Information.
  • Collating Management Information and producing regular reporting for the Senior Management Team.
  • Reviewing and conducting trend analysis on all risk events to identify improvement in controls/processes and providing feedback to relevant committees and management through the use of timely MI.
  • Providing guidance and support to the business for development of processes, procedures and controls.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance in respect of third party oversight processes through maintenance of the Oversight Risk Framework, regular process reviews and Staff training.
  • Managing relationships with third parties and escalate areas of risk and concern where processes are performed on behalf of the firm i.e. FNZ.
  • Conducting analytical reviews of platform and business change requirements, to include impact assessment and delivery of project requirements through to implementation
  • Supporting the business for completion of both internal and external audits, as required, helping to deliver any changes/improvements identified.

  • In depth understanding of financial services industry and asset management
  • Strong communication skills able to effectively communicate complex issues in a non-complex way
  • Wrap experience is essential. 
  • Good knowledge of typical Wrap platform products is highly desirable i.e. ISA & SIPP rules, regulations and reporting requirements
  • Effective decision making with the ability to balance customer, business and employee needs based on a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements
  • A strategic thinker, with ability to demonstrate effective influencing and negotiation skills at all levels.
