How will you make an impact as the Head of Operations

You will have a key strategic and operational leadership role with day to day responsibility for running all elements of the Operations team which support the Embark Platform.

Working closely with the Head of Customer Services, you will shape and deliver a market leading platform operations team with exceptional customer experience at its core. You will be a key contributor to achieving long-term business objectives and will also have responsibility for inputting into our ‘go to market’ strategies and proposition development to position Embark to win significant market share.

What your day will look like as the Head of Operations

  • Work collaboratively as part of the senior Leadership management team to collectively deliver a world class platform operation contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of the operational strategy
  • Work collaboratively with Customer Services, outsourced service providers, technology partners and external custodians and fund managers to develop and implement an operations framework to support the business
  • Day to day operational management of key outsourced service providers, ensuring effective service performance oversight and production issue management
  • Close engagement with the Operational Transformation function to ensure continuous improvement and platform evolution
  • Provide a strong knowledge of Operations, with in-depth insight of Custody and Technology functions across the product set  
  • Acting as senior operations representative in projects, client interaction, due diligence visits and other governance forums
  • Managing budgets and headcount plans in order to meet targets  
  • Developing an effective control framework that fully meets Audit, Compliance and Regulatory requirements
  • Maintaining a culture and environment where processes and controls are continually monitored and potential risks escalated on a timely basis
  • Support the embedding of the Training & Competence framework.
  • Ensuring regulatory & CASS compliance and developing a culture where customer outcomes, TCF and personal integrity are core DNA

Who you are and the experience we’re looking for

  • Proven track record of managing and delivery of operations within a regulated financial services environment
  • Confident leader with excellent relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent knowledge of all asset classes and exposure to custody, trade processing and reconciliation
  • Demonstrating a commitment to development and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of risk management, Treating Customers Fairly and Conduct risk
