Lead Business Analyst

What you’ll do

As Lead Business Analyst within Embark you will work at a group level within the Change team leading and shaping business analysis and change practices. You will work with business analysts, process analysts, test analysts, technology teams and subject matter experts across several programs of work delivering instances of the Embark Wrap Platform.

Within this role you will have the opportunity to lead, coach, develop and mentor a growing team of business analysts based in London and Leicester. You will be responsible for resource planning, recruitment, quality assurance of analysis artefacts and career management. You will be a key player in the definition of solution designs. You will be the escalation point for all analysis activity.

This is a senior role reporting to the Embark Head of Change. You must possess the necessary gravitas and exceptional communication skills to present effectively to group level executives. You will work at a management level but must also be able to ‘dive into the detail’ where necessary; supporting your team, solving problems and identifying the issues that require further escalation.

You will work closely with Project Managers and the Head of Change, incorporating business analysis deliverables into programme & project plans and will track these deliverables through the Software Development Lifecycle. You should be an expert in performing gap analysis, specifying business requirements, solution design, process re-design and procedure writing.

You will also have a track record of successful platform implementations and involvement in the design and delivery of the Target Operating Model including key control frameworks and procedural documentation.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Managing and developing a team of business analysts across multiple locations
  • Promotes pace and energy within the team and leads by example
  • Championing Change through analysis and stakeholder management
  • Applying a thorough and methodical approach to research and analysis to achieve a comprehensive and objective understanding of requirements, problems and opportunities
  • Workshop facilitation, stakeholder management presentations and review sessions for requirements and solutions
  • Identifying and documenting potential solutions considering all available information and constraints
  • Recommending and managing implementation of end to end solutions for all aspects of the SIPP, ISA and GIA product lifecycle Inc. Model management and D2C front end user journeys
  • Business process analysis, mapping and design using Business modelling language
  • Ability to analyse requirements, design and implement effective control frameworks for target operating model
  • Inputting into test strategy and support creation of test data and scripts
  • Identifying and liaising with project / task stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Producing project and communication documents / reports in a professional manner as input to the program/project office
  • Adhering to relevant methodologies and standards to meet the needs of a fast-paced changing business across the analysis workstream
  • Ability to interact with B2B partners in the lead analysis role to develop and implement multi-product, multi-channel platform-based solutions.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a structured project-based environment as a business analyst. You will have recent experience of leading and developing teams
  • Experience of managing and developing teams of business analysts
  • Client facing experience within both large multi-national organisations and smaller scale businesses
  • Structured analysis methodologies
  • Strong people management and leadership experience
  • Maintains a strong focus on people development and ensure programme resources receive any necessary training and support
  • Provides regular constructive
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall frameworks
  • ISEB Business analysis
  • Business analysis and change management in the UK Financial Services industry
  • Fund platforms, Investments, pensions as well as operational principles and management
  • Detailed wrap product knowledge
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with ability to influence at all levels
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and changing environment
  • Production of meticulous documentation
  • Creative problem solving
  • TOM definition and delivery through full project lifecycle
  • D2C front end integration through API technology
  • A background working with Platforms and wrap products
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment governing wrap platform products
  • Lean Six Sigma or equivalent for process optimization
  • Experience working with FNZ One.
