Application Developer

This role is with Embark Corporate Services Limited, part of the Embark Group.

What you’ll do

In your role as a Developer, you will be responsible for working on new greenfield development projects as well as supporting existing applications and interfaces with third party partners.

You will be responsible for understanding business requirements, participating in detailed design brainstorming sessions and developing web screens, SQL procedures/functions and SSIS packages to implement the required functionality. In addition to this part of the role will require you to work with external third-party partners to support API integrations to the Embark Platform. This will involve utilization of communication and interpersonal skills to convey ideas and technical guidance at all phases of the integration journey.

The ideal candidate will be a full stack Microsoft analyst developer with development experience in both web and database domains, have a good understanding of database design and have good working knowledge of the best practices in Web, SQL & SSIS development demonstrated over several projects as well as having excellent communication and presentation skills.

Key Accountabilities

• Participate in all phases of software development life cycle including design, development, testing, implementation and support
  
• Design and develop solutions using primarily .NET, C# and SQL Server
  
• Work with SMEs, Business Analysts and Solution Architects to understand functional & non-functional requirements and technical design
  
• Work with third party partners to support API integrations to Embarks platform
  
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complicated ideas simply
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to C-level clients
  
• Maintain high quality technical documentation
  
• Promote best practice in C#, .NET and SQL development.

Who you are and the experience we’re looking for

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a commercial environment using ASP.Net / MVC
• Experience in assisting the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications
• Experience using SQL Server 2012/2014/2016, with the ability to write high performance T-SQL & Stored Procedures & Aggregate Functions
• Extensive experience writing C# internal applications utilising various design patterns and Framework versions 4.0/4.5
• Solid front-end development skills in HTML5, MVC, ASP.NET, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript and jQuery
• Extensive use of Visual Studio 2012/2015/2017
• Experience using Team Foundation Server/DevOps or another Source Control
• Ability to implement RESTful services and WCFweb services
• Exposure to ORM frameworks such as Dapper, EF6
• Sense of writing clean code
• Experience working with third party partners to provide technical guidance at all phases of their API integration.

Desirable Experience

• Knowledge of creating/running SSIS packages & SSRS reports
• Exposure to Azure Technologies
• Knowledge of test automation tools for UI / API such as Selenium, SoapUI / ReadyAPI / Postman
• Understanding of data modelling and database design
• Ability to support and educate third party partners on new platform implementations. 
• Knowledge of the financial services industry
• Exposure to CQRS and DDD patterns
• Experience in developing unit tests to ensure required quality checks are maintained
• Experience in building and managing relationships with clients to drive strategic API integrations forward to completion.
