Test Analyst

This role is within Embark Corporate Services Limited, part of the Embark Group.


What you’ll do

In your role as Test Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the test strategy for the provision of a new WRAP Platform. You will work within a team to analyse, determine, execute and manage testing requirements to ensure that the platform is delivered to the highest quality.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Designing test cases based on written statement of requirements, software structure or operational scenarios, ensuring they are in a clear, business-oriented, non-technical style and adhere to Embark Group standards
  • Reviewing test scripts to ensure they are accurate, complete and fulfill client requirement
  • Liaising with other members of the project team throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure that test cases/scripts corresponding to the design accurately reflect the functional specification and meet the customer requirement
  • Configuring test data and executing test cases for both new developments and defect fixes against the appropriate manual test scripts ensuring acceptance criteria is met
  • Accurately producing and reviewing defect summaries and providing information to internal and external stakeholders about defects within the platform under test
  • Identifying areas where the new platform does not satisfy the test scripts and recreating and documenting faults that are applicable
  • Contributing to the implementation of standards and best practices for testing throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Providing feedback on the day-to-day processes used within the software development lifecycle and recommending improvements to these processes where they are deemed to be ineffective
  • Effectively escalating important issues affecting the testing process by reporting exceptions to the Test Manager
  • Assisting in the maintenance of local standards and procedures to support the QA process
  • Effectively applying any applicable professional standards (ISQTB) to project testing/task.

As well as this, you will need to have:

  • ISEB Foundation Certificate in Testing is highly desirable, as is experience in testing WRAP platforms for ISA/GIA and pensions
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment with a flexible and adaptable attitude towards the projects and stakeholders
  • Ability to gather and interpret requirements and design details to formulate effective and efficient tests
  • Experience of test support throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Clear experience in a test team within a structured project-based environment
  • Previous experience of user acceptance testing, including scripting and test execution
  • Clear experience working in a comparable life and pensions company, with experience in a complex regulated environment (SIPP/SSAS).
