Client Manager

This role is with Vested Employee Benefits Limited, part of the Embark Group and will be predominantly home-based.

 

What you’ll do

In your role as Client Manager, you will be responsible for supporting, coordinating and delivering new business initiatives in collaboration with other Client Managers across existing and new service propositions. This role has an increased focus on new business development and achievement of new business targets to help support the revenue growth of the business. 

This role also involves delivery of advisory employee benefit services and overall client management to a portfolio of clients, working effectively with our Operations team.

It includes proactive and structured business development, revenue generation and delivering high quality and consistent client work. The successful candidate needs to demonstrate new business experience and success, and good technical knowledge across a range of employee benefit product and service areas. It is expected the focus of this role will be broadly 50% new business and 50% client management, albeit flexibility will be required depending on business needs.


Key accountabilities

  • Work with the MD and Client Managers to plan and structure new business activities nationally
  • To support the MD with developing key introducers and collaborative partners to generate of high-quality referrals and winning new work
  • Win new work from tender processes, proposals and generating referrals in a commercially viable manner through effective negotiation
  • Deliver high quality presentations and proposals to win work
  • Be responsible for MI reporting on new business to the senior management team
  • Assist with developing existing and new service propositions and taking them to market
  • Directly responsible for the day to day client servicing of a portfolio of clients (some of which you will self-generate and some of which may be inherited)
  • Act as client’s main point of contact for advisory services and work effectively with operations team to deliver work to a high quality, consistently and in a timely manner
  • Prepare, review and sign off reports, presentations and other client communications
  • Develop new fee revenue from clients by maintaining positive client relationship and promotion new services
  • Promote the culture, profile and behaviours required to support good customer outcomes, setting an example to the team at all times
  • Support relationships with external suppliers and providers by maintaining on-going relationships

Experience required

Delivering excellence is no easy task, particularly when you are transforming a business. So we’re looking for someone with the right experience and behaviours to join our team. The ‘DNA’ we look for starts with high proactivity and tenacity, the desire to deliver service excellence, attention to detail and a passion for both innovation and continuous improvement. As well as this, you will need to have:

  • At least 3 years experience and success in business development
  • Demonstrate an ability to deliver sales targets consistently
  • To work in a logical, structured and collaborative manner with colleagues
  • Ability to deliver work to strict deadlines
  • Ability to manage client expectations with a confident and professional approach with strong organisational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbally and in writing, including professional telephone manner including presentation skills
  • Commercially aware of financial aspects to managing a client book and ability to negotiate fees
  • Technical knowledge in the majority of advisory areas above
  • Sound knowledge of all Microsoft Applications
  • Educated to degree level standard or equivalent
  • Minimum GCSE Maths & English grade C or equivalent 
  • Industry based technical qualifications (CII/PMI)
