Product Marketing Manager (Workplace)

 This role is within Embark Corporate Services Limited part of the Embark Group.

 

What you’ll do

You will develop, execute and manage the business’s product and marketing strategy as well as being the product owner for the given product area (SSAS with SIPP as lead proposition(s) but support to wider Group propositions: Wrap or Employee Benefits). You will be responsible for product development, positioning, pricing and collateral. You will align input and output to commercial priorities, and work across the business to gain internal resource and external support, to assist in achieving this and building competitive advantage. Your role includes input into managing costs and driving best value and you will recognise the necessity in collaborating across the business to achieve this.

In this role, you will protect and grow the brand, creating a differentiated and compelling positioning and content for an intermediated audience and the end client. You will be responsible for providing informed views from analysis on the customer, competitors and the wider market. You will develop tools to support this insight, interpreting and sharing with key internal and external stakeholders. Your role will play a pivotal part in supporting our Sales team demonstrable by delivery of market leading products, product enhancement and sales ideas. You will be enabled, and expected, to independently seek opportunities to develop and enhance brand and product, and will act as an ambassador for the Group, brand and product both internally and externally.

Your role will be focused on supporting sales and actively supporting tactical and strategic opportunities to develop and market opportunities whilst building a strong, collaborative working relationship and pro-actively seeking ways to support the sales effort.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, execute and manage the product and marketing strategy
  • Ensure activity is measured against a clear set of KPIs
  • Align all input and output to sales and proposition (commercial) priorities
  • Own development and delivery of all key marketing, POS and sales support content, acting as the author and owner of all content supporting all relevant compliance procedures (i.e. COBs)
  • Ensure the management of marketing activities with reference to positive conduct outcomes. Demonstrate the ability and creative skills to develop and protect the brand and its positioning, promise and values in relation to key customer groups
  • Act as product 'champion' across the business being key to driving change and developing products in line with customer needs. This will include liaison with a range of third parties including but not to, customers, suppliers, employees, investors and journalists for the benefit of our reputation
  • Be responsible for the delivery of all marketing content and ideas that will feed into campaigns, supporting tactical and strategic sales and proposition launches/initiatives
  • Create and maintain the marketing measurement framework to ensure all activity is benchmarked against a clear set of KPIs
  • Propose integral new product propositions, including dimensions of customer experience, pricing, operational workflow, risk and compliance control
  • Identify resources to develop the propositions and manage effectively and efficiently
  • Assess commercial opportunities in a rounded fashion and presents a succinct business case for the development of a new commercial activity (product, distribution partnership, capability) based on economic forecasting, risk assessments, implementation/operational requirements, and reputational/regulatory impact.

As well as this, you will need to have:

  • Graduate Calibre
  • Established experience and track record of leading successful marketing functions that support the wider business strategy and proposition development
  • Ideally 5 yrs+ Financial Services Experience
  • 2yrs+ Supervisory Experience
  • Strong technical knowledge in your product area
  • Used to high pace, regulated environments
  • Experience and knowledge in delivering product, propositions and marketing strategy, aligning content and activity to channel to maximise ROI
  • Process enhancement experience preferred
  • Creative flair and a passion for brands and marketing in financial services
  • Numerate with good Verbal Reasoning skills
  • Marketing degree or equivalent specialist marketing qualification; CII or Financial Services qualification preferred but not essential.
