Payroll & Benefits Apprentice

This role is within Embark Corporate Services Limited, part of the Embark Group.

 

 

What you’ll do

Forming the foundation of the Payroll & Benefits function within the HR Team, this role supports all aspects of the department.     

This is a key role in setting the standards of the department ensuring a professional approach to the full payroll and benefits monthly and annual cycle.        

You will work closely with various stakeholders to deliver a high quality, professional service to our employee base.            

 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Payroll & Benefits Manager (and broader HR team as required) in providing first line employee and manager guidance relating to payroll & benefit processes and broad payroll & benefits queries
  • Deliver payroll administration tasks to support the payroll annual and monthly cycle, including auto enrolment assessments, monthly Sage reports, payroll preparation tasks, basic earnings assessments, NMW checks and other tasks to ensure payroll compliance
  • Support the Payroll & Benefits Manager with the delivery of the benefits, wellness and recognition strategies to ensure a high quality and professional service is achieved.
  • Support the HR Coordinator with the benefits administration
  • Day to day management of Staff Payroll and MyBenefits mailboxes
  • Ensure payroll & benefits compliance requirements are being met, escalating where required in a time sensitive manner
  • Support HR colleagues with strategic and operational projects
  • Keen desire to develop within a payroll & benefits
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent written and oral skills.
  • Demonstrable strong team orientation and customer service focus
  • Minimum GCSE Maths & English grade C or equivalent 
  • No professional qualification required on hire but an appetite to work to professional standards is required.
