This role is within Embark Corporate Services Limited, part of the Embark Group.


What you’ll do

In your role of CASS Manager in the Oversight team, you will be the first line of defence role responsible for providing expert CASS technical support to Embark Group and in support to the Group CASS Executive.

You will deliver friendly, efficient customer service to both internal and external audiences by answering switchboard calls, manning the reception desk and supporting with other administration-related duties.


Key Accountabilities

  • Acting as a subject matter expert in relation to the operational effectiveness of the controls in place to process and segregate client assets.
  • Providing direction and opinion regarding effective implementation of any enhancements to controls or process.
  • Maintaining effective links with key management throughout the Operations function so as to effectively assess how changes to the model impact the CASS requirements.
  • Delivering CASS awareness training to senior managers and team specific training to the business, ensuring all members of the organisation understand their relevant CASS risks and responsibilities.
  • Contributing to the accurate and timely preparation and submission of the Client Money and Asset Return (CMAR) to the Group CASS Executive.
  • Managing and supporting all CASS audits, including relevant auditor visits and requests. 
  • Supporting Group CASS Executive by providing relevant input to the regulatory change forum in relation to changes to the UK regulatory regime CASS.
  • Maintaining and regularly reviewing the CASS Resolution Pack to validate that all requirements under CASS 10 are in place: making recommendations for enhancement and follow through to implementation.
  • Conducting regular reviews of the Internal System Evaluation method attestations that are in place and making recommendations for enhancement and follow though to implementation.
  • Attending internal and external regulatory forums and feeding back relevant output to Group CASS Executive.
  • Ensure that all processes and controls within area of responsibility meet both the letter and spirit of the regulations.
  • Ensuring achievement of all regulatory deadlines (e.g. FCA).
  • Compliance with the Group R&C Framework.
  • Compliance with CASS rules.
  • Demonstrable Financial Services operational management experience.
  • Strong understanding of Financial Services front and back office operations.
  • Understanding of the current regulatory environment with detailed knowledge of operating in a CASS environment.
  • Knowledge of UK banking and PRA regime preferable.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
  • Track record of strong execution skills.
