Marketing Manager (Advance Platform)

This role is within Embark Corporate Services Limited, part of the Embark Group.

What you’ll do

As Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the creation, management and ongoing development of marketing literature, product marketing materials, sales and promotional materials for the Advance Platform. Your role will also include writing and producing client communications and developing and managing end to end campaigns to increase awareness of the Advance Platforms core products and tools and support the launch of new propositions. Your role will include creating, improving and maintaining content across all channels including web and social media to achieve our business goals. Your duties will also include monitoring ROI and working with external asset managers and platform partners to identify new content and best practices.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and creative marketer, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. You will work as part of a small but highly visible team and will focus on leading and delivering all marketing initiatives for the Advance Platform, aligned with our growth priorities. You will work closely the marketing managers supporting the Embark Platform and Horizon Funds businesses to align activities and support cross-selling and will be expected to collaborate effectively with central design and digital resources to deliver materials and communications in line with group standards. From time to time you will also be required to support the Group Head of Marketing with Group-wide initiatives.

A thorough knowledge of B2B marketing and current best practice is essential, along with a keen interest in digital emerging trends. You will be confident working with technical product information and distilling complex information into engaging marketing material.  You will seek to understand the commercial outcomes sought by the business and be confident how to translate this into marketing activity. You will be able to communicate key messages to a diverse audience.

Excellent project management skills are a must, as is a proven track record in B2B and multi-channel marketing. Experience of customer journey mapping would be an advantage. The role requires you to have excellent influencing and communication skills to be credible and make an impact on senior stakeholders, as well as the ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Group’s strategic business drivers.

It is also a hand-on delivery role and you will also be required to create and/or curate content in multiple formats for client communications and for use at events, in sales pitches, for marketing and thought leadership pieces, and will be responsible for pushing this out across internal and external channels.

Key Accountabilities

  • Day to day management and delivery of the marketing requirements for the Advance Platform and all its propositions, liaising directly with business stakeholders, proposition and sales teams.
  • Development and management of the marketing plan and budget for the business
  • Creating and publishing content for specific key clients to support their campaigns and client engagement initiatives and bespoke websites, ensuring it is relevant, timely and accurate, aligned to the Group strategy and our growth priorities.
  • Responsibility for writing and producing client communications and marketing materials, ensuring appropriate business, technical, legal and compliance approvals
  • Creating and implementing marketing campaigns, establishing KPIs and analysing metrics, using the insight to refine our messaging and approach.
  • Supporting the sales team to respond to requests for information, building a database of information for due diligence requests and providing support to produce presentation materials.
  • Initiating ideas and strategies to maximise engagement with our target audiences via all channels.
  • Creating and implementing initiatives to gain greater insight of our key clients (and their end clients), using the insight to refine our messaging and approach. 
  • Managing multiple projects concurrently, ensuring deadlines are met and budgets managed.
  • Overseeing and managing the creative development process, utilising the services of internal resources and external agencies where required.
  • Shared responsibility for the management of a marketing executive, helping to set objectives and manage performance, as well as supporting their longer-term development.
  • Managing and regularly auditing the marketing and product literature inventory and materials library
  • Regular analysis and reporting of ROI and effectiveness of all marketing activities.
  • Supporting the Group Head of Marketing with firmwide marketing and communication initiatives

Who you are and the experience we’re looking for

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation is essential.
  • Solid experience in B2B marketing, working with proposition and sales teams to devise launch campaigns, develop messaging, create marketing content, produce sales materials and operational literature to support new products and services.
  • Experience developing compelling multi-channel marketing content for presentations, sales support, events and campaigns
  • Creative thinking essential, basic design editing skills InDesign/HTML would be useful.
  • Experience using current digital marketing tools and techniques and developing content for web and social media
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing demands concurrently, with a sense of urgency to meet client needs.
  • Strong internal client management skills - the ability to take a brief and develop relevant solutions.
  • Independent judgment to determine project guidelines, purpose, follow-through and completion.
  • An ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and experience working with external agencies on PR, content and design.
  • Successful track record in developing marketing campaigns that drive results
  • Financial Services experience essential, IFA and/or investment platform experience would be an advantage
