What you’ll do

 

You’ll be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of our employee payroll, pension and benefits service, along with associated reporting requirements. You will work closely with the Payroll & Benefits Manager and the Head of Reward & Benefits, our Finance teams and our benefits providers, to deliver a high quality, professional service to our employee base.

This is an important role within a small team that provides a service directly to all Embark employees. The ability to work to deadlines with attention to detail and ability is essential.  The role has the potential to include involvement in broader HR projects, making this an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to establish a career in HR.  

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Accurately complete the end to end processing of payrolls and benefits across the Group, including reporting and reconciliation activities

  • Act as the main point of contact for employee queries relating to payroll and benefits

  • Work with external and internal contacts to ensure that a highly accurate service is provided to all employees 

  • Maintain the payroll and benefits process, ensuring all are documented to a high standard, identifying possible improvements and making recommendations where required

  • Undertake the administration of all benefits on a day-to-day basis and manage the relationship with external benefits providers, including annual benefits renewals

  • Ensure core employee documentation, including pay slips/P60s/P11Ds/P45s are delivered on time

  • Co-ordinate the implementation and promotion of any new benefits / benefits-related HR projects or initiatives

  • Collate and provide relevant KPI information in a timely manner. Generating data in a format that is readily available to monitor trends and make recommendations.

  • Knowledge of payroll and benefits systems will be beneficial

  • Good working knowledge of payroll and HR system

  • Awareness of employment law and employment tax legislation  
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel

  • Ability to manage a varied workload to deadline and exceed these where possible

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • A curiosity to keep learning and improving what we do, positive opportunities for improvement in all we do

  • Demonstrable strong team orientation and customer service focus
